The analysis and interpretation of a crime scene requires a highly experienced forensic scientist who has a good overview of the different disciplines within forensic science, as well as their own specialism(s). Our forensic scientists are trained to this high level and many of them are experienced scene examiners, having been involved in the examination and reporting of many, often complex cases in their careers to date.
At Manlove Forensics we routinely condict scene examinations on locations that have not yet been checked and re-examine those that have already had scientists attending. Our scientists are experts in crime scene analysis, specialising in a number of forensic evidence types including blood pattern analysis, footwear recovery, marks enhancement and the more specialist environmental evidence types.
Crime scenes are often cleaned or otherwise destroyed following an initial examination but we are frequently called on to conduct a review of the scene examination from the notes of the forensic scientist who examined the scene first. This can often identify potential areas for further work.
Where the crime scene is still preserved, it can be possible to carry out an examination and check the findings of the first forensic scientist. It is also possible to take further samples from the crime scene where appropriate, for example, for DNA analysis.
